Personal data

Andrew LW Lee is a Singapore citizen born on Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean and who grew up in Singapore from age 15. After graduating from the University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, he entered the banking industry and spent the next 28 years serving in various businesses, the bulk of which was in the areas of treasury dealing and settlement.

He moved into the area of business continuity management in late 1997 and was made a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP #4299) with the DRII not long after that. He had also been certified as a CORS in Business Continuity Management with The ICOR in August 008 (#08081412BCM) and this was upgraded at end May 2011 to CORM (#0502111M) in Business Continuity Management and Audit.

 


 
 

Prior to his current role in DRBCM Associates Pte Ltd, he was the regional head of BCM with a major European bank with responsibility for the oversight of 17 countries in Asia Pacific and he held that post for 8-1/2 years until March 31, 2007.
   
         
 

Andrew is a very experienced instructor and a much sought-after conference speaker who is able to hold his audience and bring to life the subject matter at hand. In June 2009, he was accredited as a Practising Management Consultant (PMC).

Affiliations and Honors

Andrew had been a qualified instructor with the Disaster Recovery Institute International since 2003 and had taught many classes of BCLE-2000, a course designed to prepare participants for the CBCP certification examinations. He was the principal trainer for DRI Singapore between 2008 and 2009 and in 2010 was appointed a BCM instructor for The ICOR University. Currently he is their Singapore Campus Director.

Training and instructing had been part and parcel of Andrew's career since the early 1980s when he was a trainer in treasury products for one of the big US banks in Singapore. He was able to hold audience with finance directors, treasurers and CFOs and training them on the intricacies of the markets - how to maximize their investment returns while minimizing their costs. Over a period of six years, he taught more than a hundred classes of varying durations ranging from 3 days to 5 weeks.

Besides being a certified BCMM® Assessor, Andrew has also availed himself as a mentor for BCM to companies in Singapore through the Singapore Business Federation.

His passion for BCM was not just confined to the classroom or at the conference. He took his colleagues under his personal tutorage and groomed them for their BCM roles in the major European bank.

Since April 2007, Andrew had been involved in helping a number of financial institutions in Singapore on their BCM programs as well as appointed independent BCM auditor for one of the local polytechnics. His other clients include a number of SMEs, Singapore GLCs and MNCs.
